Tiya Miles is an American historian, and professor in the Department of History and chair of the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies at the University of Michigan. She is a 2011 MacArthur Fellow.[1]
She graduated from Harvard University with an A.B. in 1992, from Emory University with an M.A. in 1995, and from the University of Minnesota with a Ph.D. in 2000. She was an assistant professor at the University of California, Berkeley from 2000 to 2002. She was a School for Advanced Research Resident Scholar from 2007 to 2008.[2]
